Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian as well as an American artist and singer. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk-rock and alternative rock but has additional influence from hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first artist to launch her own record company in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent as was her mother from Montreal. Ani's song, 32 Flavors was written by her and sung by Ani. The song was featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995. The song's version can be heard in the film Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was announced that she would be hosting the three-day workshop on a Louisiana slave plantation. It was called off, but certain (including the media) did not think it was a sign of regret. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days afterward. She is known for her Little Folksinger music, but she has worked with several music genres, including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. New Orleans is her home. Ani DiFranco lives with Kristen Ford. In just 14 months, DiFranco began writing her own lyrics. She performed them at coffee shops and bars throughout her teens. DiFranco graduated from her Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school in the year 16 and began attending the classes of Buffalo State College. Ani's new baritone guitar is custom Alvarez created following several meetings between her myself as well as Chrys Johnson, who was the artist rep for Alvarez at the time. The guitar is constructed from solid wood and has an ebony top and cedar sides. The guitar also comes with an System 600 Preamp. The owner lives in New Orleans, with her family, which includes her husband and two kids. Lefty is their dog friend who wanders around while she talks. DiFranco has been 30 years old, acknowledges that reflecting on the past has resulted in mixed feelings. Ani DiFranco achieved musical iconic status as a songwriter/singer and punk/folk at the age 25, both among both fans and critics with Not A Pretty Girl. Dilate was a huge success and brought more fame for DiFranco's music, in 1996. It is the 1972 single of the American pop band Looking Glass.
